Cladding – Protect your home from the ravages of the UK’s weather by using robust PVC and uPVC cladding.

Invest in uPVC cladding and you’ll get the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you’ve installed long term protection for your home, improved its appearance, and increased its value.

The job of cladding is to protect your home’s walls, roof rafters, and joists, no matter what Britain’s weather throws at them.

The alternative is to continually repaint and repair exposed timber. Not only is this extremely time consuming but also very expensive, especially if you need to employ a decorator. As lifestyles become more hectic, finding the time to concentrate on a continuous cycle of home maintenance becomes increasingly difficult. The problem is, of course, that your home is a vital asset and needs to be protected.

At Home Cladding Services (HCS), we supply and install a full range of robust cellular PVC cladding profiles in traditional styles, with complementary joints, trims and fixings.

And we only ever use high quality Swish & Freefoam Cladding Systems. Why? Because Swish cellular PVC cladding is the ideal substitute for timber cladding. It doesn’t discolour over time, it retains its appearance, is virtually maintenance free, and, most importantly, it‚s weather resistant. Better yet, cellular PVC cladding can significantly improve the thermal performance of buildings, particularly when combined with suitable insulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of home cladding?

Cladding offers a huge number of benefits for your home. From the UK to Australia and all countries between, cladding can be found on houses across the globe.

Cladding for protection

One of the major benefits of cladding is protection for your house. Howling wind, torrential rain, and intense UV rays from the sun can all be extremely detrimental to your home’s exterior. Wood can rot, paint can peel, and brickwork can disintegrate when exposed all year round to the elements.

Houses near the coast have the added problem of salt water to contend with, which can cause extensive damage to your home’s external walls. Pollution can also cause corrosion – a threat to many homes in towns and cities. Adding a layer of cladding to protect your exterior walls can prevent this damage from occurring.

Cladding saves you money

Exterior home repairs are often extremely costly, so it’s far more economical to prevent the need for them in the first place. Cladding is hard wearing and durable and needs minimal maintenance. Once installed, no further work is required and your walls, joists, and roof rafters are all instantly protected against the elements and other corrosive properties that can affect them.

Cladding also works very well as an insulator. If heat is more efficiently retained in the winter and the sun is kept out more effectively in the summer, then your energy bills can be a kept to a minimum. At a time when energy prices are at an all time high, this is of great importance.

In addition to its protective qualities and its role as an affective insulator, cladding also contributes an aesthetic benefit to homes. There is no doubt that cladding is as attractive as it is useful and can be used to provide an instant make-over to the home. And any improvement to a home’s appearance is also likely to increase its value.

What is over cladding?

We have a strict policy of no over-cladding. We make sure old fascia, soffit, and bargeboards are always removed. This allows us to inspect the walls, roof rafters, and joists for rot and damage. We’ll even repair them, where necessary, before we fit new cladding. Over-cladding the old rotten boards simply conceals existing problems and allow rotting to continue undetected. This will lead to increased problems in the future and may result in serious structural damage.

What are the materials you use and why?

When it comes to the roofline, we use Freefoam high quality 18mm fascia board and 10mm soffit board. To make sure that ventilation complies with current building regulations, we fit Ubink over-fascia ventilator strips. Both Freefoam and Ubink products are manufactured to British Standard EN ISO 9002. Choosing British Standard ISO products means we can guarantee the same high quality work each time.

What kind of guarantee comes with your work?

The terms PVCu, uPVC, PVC-U, and PVCU all essentially refer to the same product. We use all of these terms because many companies still use a “mixture” of them when describing their Low Maintenance or Maintenance Free Building Products. The current “industry standard” term for these products is PVC-U.

For peace of mind, all of our work carries a 10 year guarantee plus a 20 year guarantee for our products.

Why Use HCS?

  • Protect your property for years & years
  • No painting
  • No rotting
  • Protect your roof
  • Create new look
  • Increased property value
  • 20-year product guarantee
